Indian Mackeral also known as Ayala in Malayalam, is a common seafood for keralites. It is tasty as well as highly nutritional. It is also good for blood, arthritis problems, heart disease etc.The Indian mackerel is generally found in shallow, coastal waters, where the surface water temperature is at least 17 °C. It can have a maximum length of 17cms. The species are found in coastal bays, harbours and deep lagoons.
It is known for lowering heart triglycerides disease, also good for blood. It contains proteins, nutrients such as calcium, potassium, magnesium and vitamins like vitamin D, E, A, K, B3 and B12.
